A very unique aspect to Star Wars: The Old Republic is the map system, in SWTOR you have Planets as opposed to continents/countries/”zones”. At first glance you may think that SWTOR Planets are very large and confusing and just make the game too complex for something you want to relax and play, that isn’t the case, the planets are quite easy to navigate to and it isn’t too much different then most games.

In total there are 17 SWTOR Planets, some big, some small, but they are all sure to differentiate from each other. You will be traveling back and forth between planets to continue on with your storyline

Tython

The SWTOR Planet Tython is home of the Jedi. Very interesting about Tython is that a larger section of it is undiscovered with an unknown darkness.

Korriban

Korriban is basically Tython to the Sith. What I mean by this is just as the Jedi call Tython Home, the sith call Korriban home.

Coruscant

The SWTOR Planet Coruscant is the Republic’s capital, additionally, it houses both the senate and the chancellor.

Alderaan

This is a neutral planet that is being fought for between the Empire and the Republic.

Tatooine

Tatooine is a desert planet, anyone who is a fan of the star wars movies should be familiar with this planet.

Hutta

The Hutt cartels operation is stationed in the SWTOR Planet, Hutta.

Ord Mantell

The SWTOR Planet Ord Mantell is actually a colony ran by the Galactic Republic and is currently under a civil war for independence.

Balmorra

This is an interesting planted, it was actually once in control by the Republic but was taken over by the Sith. This is a very cool planet full of PvP battles.

Dromund Kass

The SWTOR Planet Dromund Kass is where the emperor and the dark council are stationed, similar to Coruscant for the Republic.

Taris

Wasteland planet due to the Sith destroying everything on it, however, the Republic are making a strive to re-colonize the planet.

Belsavis

Belsavis is an SWTOR Planet that is basically a prison used for the Galactic Republic.

Hoth

Hoth is a very PvP oriented planet with an icy terrain. Very cool looking planet and a lot of fun to battle opponents here.

Voss

The planet voss is also where the voss race was originated, currently this planet is being fought for by the empire and the republic with hopes to gain an Alliance with the voss race.

Nars Shadaa

Crime and cartels run this planet, although technically it is a moon and technically under the Hutts authority.

Corellia

Formally known as a Republic planet, however, it has been corrupted by the Empire via the leaders.

Ilum
The SWTOR Planet Ilum is known for being the origin of the lightsaber.

Quesh

Republic planet under constant invasion by the Imperial forces.
